Who would win in batman vs superman, the fight to end all fights among superheroes in the DC Universe? Would batman come out on top, or would the last son of Krypton, superman? The batman vs superman argument is one that goes back nearly a century in the annals of comic history and among fanboys of all ages.

There is no other comparison or fight that could be staged like batman vs superman. The two are two of the Holy Trinity of DC Comics along with wonder woman. They are also two of the oldest superheroes in existence. To see batman vs superman would be the fight of the century, and it actually has been done before, a few times. In the epic futuristic graphic novel “Dark Knight Returns” by Frank Miller, we saw an aged batman vs superman where batman hit superman with a kryptonite ring. In the lead up to 52, we saw superman taken over by Max Lord, and he then proceeded to attack batman, leaving him a mess.

So who would win in batman vs superman? That’s hard to say. Sure, superman is the more powerful of the two, and quicker and indestructible to a certain extent. But batman is smarter and more clever, and is always thinking ten steps ahead of everyone at all times. If batman has time to prepare for a batman vs superman altercation then good money’s on him coming out on top. But if superman has a surprise advantage on batman then batman’s toast.

If it came down to a fistfight with batman vs superman then superman would surely win. But while supes is no dummy, if it came to a battle of wits batman would come out on top. But there are simply too many variables that need to be considered to expertly predict the outcome in batman vs superman. The answer may never be known, and maybe that adds to the appeal of the fanboy dream of seeing a batman vs superman fight.

Only time will tell if these two titans ever face again, and it will be left up to the writers on who prevails in the epic showdown of batman vs superman. Until then, all the fanboys in all the world will just have to daydream about the collision of these titans and make up our own outcome as to who we’d like to see come out on top.
